Today students went to the computer lab to create powerpoints for their group presentations.

US History Dec. 1

Today we enacted the Boston Massacre.  We talked about the Boston Massacre and propaganda.  Here is the powerpoint we looked at.  In the packets, students did the worksheets on Sam Adams, Taxation without Representation, and Building Colonial Unity.

UT History Nov. 28

Today we worked on group projects.  We also talked about how to put together a powerpoint and looked at some of Ms. Schow’s research.  Here are the questions different groups answered.

US History Nov. 28

Today we watched a movie on the stamp act.  We played a game called All the Kings Starburst to simulate how the colonists felt being taxed by England.  We corrected the timeline and had time to work on more of the packet.

UT History Nov. 22

Today we talked about the history of Thanksgiving.  We talked about Native American relations and different perspectives.  We compared and contrasted it to Native American relations in Utah with white settlers.  Here is a link to some movies we watched on Native American perspectives.

US History Nov. 22

Today we went over a powerpoint for this unit.  There was a paper in the road to revolution packet to go along with the powerpoint.  On A day we watched videos on Thanksgiving.  On B day we watched a movie on the founding fathers.

Ut History Nov 18

Today we went over a powerpoint on the Mormon Battalion and Winter Quarters.  We turned in the Ch. 6 Reading guide and went over it.  We also took our Ch. 6 Test.

US History

Today students worked on a timeline.  This is due on Nov. 29.  We also watched part of a movie on the founding fathers.    On Nov. 22 the second reading assignment and discussion with parents is due.  All of these assignments are described in the Road to Revolution Packet .

UT History Nov. 16

Today we talked about the arts and entertainment in Utah.  Here is a powerpoint we went over.  We also watched some short video clips.  We played a review game, Beat the Devil, to prepare for the test on the Mormon Pioneers.

US History Nov. 16

Today we introduced the new unit and packet.  Students and parents should read about taxation without representation and discuss the questions in the packet by Friday.  We also went over vocabulary for Chapter 5.  Also, counselors came in and talked about Utah Scholars.
